Mogadishu(SONNA)-Somalia’s Minister of Transport and Civil Aviation, H.E. Mohamed Farah Noor, announced that Somali Airlines will resume its operations by the end of 2025, marking the revival of the national carrier after more than three decades of suspension.
The Minister stated that the ministry has made significant progress toward restoring the airline’s operations, emphasizing the government’s commitment to strengthening the aviation system and upholding the rule of law.
Established in 1964, Somali Airlines once operated domestic and international flights before suspending operations in 1991 due to the civil war. The Somali government is now working to revive the national carrier and restore its historic identity.
