Mogadishu, (SONNA) — The Commissioner of the Somali Disaster Management Agency (SoDMA), Mahamuud Moallim Abdulle, held a productive meeting today with the World Bank Country Manager for Somalia, Hideki Matsunaga.
The discussions focused on strengthening cooperation between SoDMA and the World Bank, particularly in disaster management, natural risk prevention, and enhancing community resilience and social development efforts led by the Somali government.
Mr. Matsunaga commended SoDMA and other government institutions for their continued progress and commitment, reaffirming the World Bank’s technical and financial support to help Somalia build resilient communities capable of coping with disasters and climate change.
Commissioner Mahamuud Moallim Abdulle expressed gratitude for the World Bank’s consistent support, noting that the partnership will play a crucial role in boosting national capacity for disaster preparedness and response.
