Mogadishu, November 29, 2024 – The National Disaster Management Agency (SoDMA) received an aid shipment from the Qatar Charity office in Somalia during a brief ceremony held at the main port of Mogadishu today.
The aid shipment, consisting of 250 tents, is intended to provide much-needed shelter for the vulnerable and to prepare for potential emergencies. The event was graced by the presence of Mr. Ahmed Abdi Adan, Deputy Commissioner of the National Disaster Management Agency, and Dr. Abdullah Salem Al Nuaimi, Ambassador of the State of Qatar to Somalia, alongside other distinguished officials.
In his address, Deputy Chairman Ahmed Abdi Adan expressed profound gratitude towards the government of Qatar and the leadership of Qatar Charity for their generous support. He emphasized the critical impact of this donation, assuring that the aid will be promptly delivered to those in dire need.
Ambassador Al Nuaimi reiterated Qatar’s commitment to supporting Somalia in its humanitarian efforts and underscored the longstanding bonds of brotherhood between the two nations. This gesture of goodwill is an indication to Qatar’s ongoing dedication to aiding Somalia’s development and resilience.
