Mogadishu, Somalia – December 7, 2024 – The Commissioner of the Somali National Disaster Management Agency (SoDMA), Mohamud Ma’allin Cabdulle, along with a delegation, arrived in Dhuusamareeb today. The delegation includes ministers from various regional relief ministries and representatives from the Banadir region.
Upon their arrival at Dhuusamareeb airport, the delegation was warmly welcomed by the Minister of Relief of Galmudug, Abdirahman Makawi, along with officials from the Galgaduud regional administration and other dignitaries.
This visit coincides with the opening of the Humanitarian Affairs Forum, which is held three times a year. This year’s forum is being hosted in Galmudug and is set to commence tomorrow. The forum aims to address critical humanitarian issues and enhance coordination among various stakeholders involved in disaster management and relief efforts.
Commissioner Mohamud Ma’allin’s presence shows the importance of the forum and the commitment of SoDMA to improving disaster response and management across Somalia. The forum will provide a platform for discussing strategies, sharing best practices, and strengthening collaboration to better serve the Somali people in times of need.
