SoDMA and UNDP Bolster Partnership for Disaster Relief and Data Collection
Mogadishu, SONNA – Mr. Mahmoud Moalim Abdulle, the Commissioner of the Somali Disaster Management Agency (SoDMA), today hosted a delegation from the United Nations Development Program (UNDP) at SoDMA headquarters. The UNDP delegation was led by Titus Kuuyuor.
The meeting focused on reinforcing the existing cooperation and collaboration between SoDMA and UNDP, with a particular emphasis on joint efforts in data collection pertaining to disaster relief issues. This collaboration is crucial for effective humanitarian response and long-term disaster preparedness in Somalia.
Commissioner Abdulle extended his gratitude to UNDP for their consistent and invaluable efforts in the country, acknowledging their vital role in supporting Somalia’s development and humanitarian initiatives.
To solidify their enhanced partnership and address any remaining areas for collaboration, both parties concluded the meeting by agreeing to convene a technical meeting in the near future. This upcoming session aims to bridge any gaps and streamline their joint operations for greater efficiency and impact.
