Baidoa(SONNA)-The Somali Disaster Management Agency, in collaboration with the South West State Ministry of Humanitarian Affairs, has continued for the second consecutive day the distribution of humanitarian assistance in Baidoa to communities severely affected by drought.
The ongoing operation focuses on delivering essential food supplies to vulnerable populations struggling with worsening food insecurity. On the second day of the initiative, 300 individuals—including persons with disabilities, newly displaced families, and other at-risk groups—received much-needed assistance.
The aid distribution targets households in Baidoa and nearby villages that have been heavily impacted by prolonged dry conditions, which have led to widespread shortages of food and water.
SoDMA emphasized that its humanitarian response continues across the country, with efforts including food distribution and water trucking, aimed at supporting and saving lives among communities affected by the ongoing drought crisis.
