Mogadishu, (SONNA) – In a bid to intensify operations aimed at clearing Al-Shabaab militants from Somalia’s Middle Shabelle region, General Sahal Abdullahi Omar, Commander of the Somali National Army (SNA) Ground Forces, visited local forces in the Nuur-Dugle area to boost their morale.
General Sahal praised the bravery and sacrifices of these local fighters, commending their recent victories against the enemy and their unwavering commitment to protecting their communities. He assured them of the government’s continued support, providing both logistical assistance and supplies while closely monitoring their situation on the ground.
The Middle Shabelle region has become a hotspot for intensified military operations, with joint forces achieving significant gains against the militants. Recent offensives have resulted in the elimination of several fighters and key commanders, marking another step forward in Somalia’s ongoing fight against terrorism.
