Mogadishu(SONNA)-Somali National Army (SNA) troops, supported by local forces, conducted a military operation on Wednesday in Boorey, about 120 kilometers from Bahdo town in the Mudug region, successfully pushing back Al-Shabaab militants.
Army officers said the offensive is part of three ongoing coordinated operations against the group across the region. During the operation, at least 13 militants, including senior commanders, were killed on the spot, while two others escaped with serious injuries.
Officials added that efforts are ongoing to secure the area and prevent the militants from regrouping.
