Awdheegle (SONNA) — The Somali National Army (SNA) has driven Al-Shabaab terrorists out of several areas under Awdheegle district in Lower Shabelle region.
The gallant forces, continuing their planned operations against the militants, cleared new locations including Tawakal village, where the terrorists had been hiding. The troops destroyed several hideouts and tunnels used by the militants.
This operation is part of the third phase of Operation Silent Storm, aimed at dismantling Al-Shabaab’s regrouping areas and restoring lasting peace and stability in the liberated regions.
