Lower Shabelle, (SONNA) — The Commander of the Somali National Army’s Land Forces, Gen. Sahal Abdullahi Omar, accompanied by the Commander of Sector 1 of the African Union Stabilization Mission in Somalia (AUSSOM) and other senior officers, conducted an inspection visit to areas in Lower Shabelle region, including locations near Awdheegle district.
The Commander toured several operational sites, commending the forces for their achievements and the heavy blows inflicted on Al-Shabaab terrorists. He also urged the joint forces to intensify operations and eliminate the remaining hideouts of the enemy.
The third phase of Operation Silent Storm is actively underway in Lower Shabelle, dealing significant setbacks to Al-Shabaab militants.
