Mogadishu, (SONNA) — The Commander of the Somali National Army, Maj. Gen. Odowaa Yusuf Rageh, visited the African Union Stabilization Mission in Somalia (AUSSOM), UPDF troops on Thursday to commend their role in Operation Silent Storm, which recaptured Lower Shabelle’s Sabiid and Anole towns from Al-Shabaab.
Maj. Gen. Odowaa praised the joint AUSSOM-UPDF, SNAF, and partners’ collaboration, pledging ongoing support to liberate militant-held areas, and thanked Uganda for contributing to Somalia’s stability.
AUSSOM Force Commander Lt. Gen. Sam Kavuma emphasised the importance of joint efforts and civilian protection. Maj. Gen. Odowaa was accompanied by Sector One Commander Brig. Gen. Joseph Musoke Ssemwanga, Operation Silent Storm Commander Col. Kosia Kuteesa, Military Information Officer Lt. Col. Jean Rukiira, and senior SNAF officers, reaffirming their commitment to continued operations in Sector One.
