Mogadishu, (SONNA) — The Chief of Staff of the Somali National Armed Forces (SNAF), Major General Mohamed Godax Barre, today welcomed a 16-member delegation from the Egyptian Armed Forces to Mogadishu.
The delegation, led by Major General Islam Radwan, is on an assessment mission ahead of the deployment of an Egyptian military contingent to the African Union Support and Stabilisation Mission in Somalia (AUSSOM).
The Egyptian team also met with AUSSOM leadership, headed by SRCC and Head of Mission, Ambassador El Hadji Ibrahima Diene, and attended a security briefing at AUSSOM Force Headquarters. During their stay, the delegation will inspect key facilities in Mogadishu and in the field related to the deployment, training, and logistics of Egyptian troops.
