Mogadishu (SONNA) – A senior commander of the Al-Shabaab terrorists was killed in a planned operation carried out in War-Warasle, a location 35 km northwest of Waajid town in Bakool region.
The commander, Hussein Macalin Hassan, also known among the terrorists as “Magalo-Been,” was one of Al-Shabaab’s top leaders who had previously held multiple positions across various regions of Somalia.
Military officials confirmed that Hussein, whose movements were under surveillance, had recently traveled from Lower Shabelle and was mobilizing efforts to forcibly recruit children under the age of maturity into the group.
The Somali National Army’s 95th Battalion of the 9th Brigade, 60th Division, confirmed the operation was carefully planned and specifically targeted, eliminating a commander who had long inflicted suffering on the Somali people.
