Mogadishu, (SONNA) — Security forces of the Federal Government of Somalia have successfully ended a terrorist attack on the Godka Jilicow Investigation Center, one of the main facilities of the National Intelligence and Security Agency (NISA).
The cowardly attack by Al-Shabaab terrorists was swiftly foiled, with all seven militants eliminated within minutes. The attackers used a pickup truck painted in the colors and insignia of security vehicles and wore military-style uniforms to disguise themselves.
Authorities said the incident highlights the urgent need to tighten the control of vehicles bearing military colors in the capital. Security institutions have been instructed to fully enforce the Government Facilities Security Law (No.134), Private Facilities Security Law (No.135) and the Capital Weapons Control Law (No.123).
The government conveyed its condolences to the families of the fallen heroes and wished the injured officers a speedy recovery.
