Mogadishu, (SONNA) – The Secretary-General of the House of the People of the Federal Parliament of Somalia, Abdirahmaan Mohamed Abdulle (Jaabiri), held a meeting in his office with George Conway, the Deputy Special Representative of the UN Secretary-General for Somalia and the UN Resident Humanitarian Coordinator.
The discussion focused on strengthening collaboration between the Somali Parliament and the United Nations, particularly in areas related to legislative frameworks concerning refugees and internally displaced persons (IDPs). Both sides emphasized the importance of enhancing coordination to address humanitarian challenges and improve legislative support for vulnerable communities.
The meeting underscored the ongoing commitment to reinforcing cooperation between Somalia’s legislative body and international partners in tackling key humanitarian and governance issues.
