Mogadishu (SONNA): The Second Deputy Speaker of the House of the People of the Federal Parliament of Somalia, Hon. Abdullahi Omar Abshirrow, participated in an experience-sharing workshop attended by members of both chambers of the Somali Parliament, organized by the United Nations Transitional Mission in Somalia (UNTMIS).
The workshop focused on different electoral systems, the exchange of parliamentary experiences, and strengthening understanding of modern democratic procedures.
In his opening remarks, Deputy Speaker Abdullahi Omar Abshirrow highlighted the importance of the workshop for Parliament and emphasized the critical role elections play in promoting democracy. He noted that such forums contribute significantly to enhancing Somalia’s electoral processes.
