Dar es Salaam, (SONNA) — The Second Deputy Speaker of the House of the People of the Federal Parliament of Somalia, Hon. Abdullahi Omar Abshirow, visited the Somali Embassy in Dar es Salaam as part of his official working trip to Tanzania.
Hon. Abshirow, who is leading a delegation to the Tanzanian capital, was warmly received at the embassy by Somalia’s Ambassador to Tanzania, H.E. Ilyees Ali Hassan. The visit comes as construction of the embassy building nears completion.
The Deputy Speaker commended Ambassador Ilyees for his dedication and achievements, particularly for spearheading the self-initiated construction of the embassy building. He noted that the new premises will stand among the most impressive Somali diplomatic missions abroad.
Hon. Abshirow is in Tanzania to attend the 19th Conference of Parliamentary Speakers from the East African Cooperation bloc. The two-day event brought together regional parliamentary leaders to strengthen legislative collaboration and promote integration among member states.
