Mogadishu, SONNA – The Second Deputy Prime Minister of the Federal Republic of Somalia, H.E. Jibril Abdirashid Haji Abdi, visited Hodan district in Banadir Region to officially receive his voter registration card. The visit highlights the Federal Government’s commitment to promoting inclusive political participation through a transparent and credible voter registration process.
Speaking during his visit, Deputy Prime Minister Jibril Abdirashid stated that Hodan is the district where he is registered to vote, and emphasized the government’s dedication to ensuring that every eligible citizen has the opportunity to participate in Somalia’s evolving democratic process.
The Deputy Prime Minister extended his appreciation to the district authorities, praising the governor and staff for their warm reception and their active role in facilitating the registration process.
He also used the opportunity to encourage all Somali citizens to participate in the voter registration exercise and claim their right to be part of the nation’s political future.
The visit comes as part of a nationwide effort to build a functional electoral system that enables direct citizen participation, strengthens democratic governance, and supports the broader vision for peace, accountability, and national development.
