Mogadishu, (SONNA) — The Second Deputy Prime Minister of the Federal Republic of Somalia, H.E Abdisalam Abdullahi, today bid farewell to the Chairperson of the African Union, Hon. Mahmoud Ali Youssouf, at Aden Adde International Airport, concluding a two-day visit to the country.
During his stay in Mogadishu, the Chairperson held meetings with senior Somali government officials, discussing ways to strengthen the relationship between Somalia and the African Union. Key topics included support for the AUSSOM mission and efforts towards peace and reconstruction in the nation.
The Second Deputy Prime Minister expressed gratitude to the African Union Chairperson for his visit and for the Union’s role in promoting peace and development in Somalia. He emphasized the importance of cooperation in areas such as security, reconciliation, and economic development.
