Mogadishu, (SONNA) — The Second Deputy Prime Minister of the Federal Government of Somalia, H.E. Jibril Abdirashid, led a joint national and regional task force—appointed by Prime Minister Hamza Abdi Barre—on an inspection tour of areas affected by the heavy rains that struck Mogadishu from last night into this morning.
The delegation visited key locations, including the Police Academy (Iskool Buluusiya) and the road linking Aden Adde International Airport to KM4, to assess the extent of the damage caused by the flooding and guide emergency response efforts.
Deputy Prime Minister Jibril urged residents of the capital, particularly those living near drainage channels, to remain vigilant, as additional rainfall is forecast in the coming hours.
