Mogadishu, (SONNA) – The Minister of Finance of the Federal Government of Somalia, H.E Bihi Iman Egeh and the Deputy Minister of Finance of Russia, Timur Igorevich Maksimov signed an agreement to relieve more than $684 Million of debt owed by Somalia.
The bilateral agreement meeting was held in Saint Petersburg and will be fundamental for the debt relief that Somalia has been working on for a long time.
Today, Saint Petersburg will host the ‘Africa and Russia’ conference, and a delegation from Somalia led by the Deputy Prime Minister, Salah Ahmed Jama will attend.
