Mogadishu(SONNA):Prime Minister of the Federal Government of Somalia H.E Hassan Ali Kheyre thanked the European Union and Norway for their significant role in renovating Mogadishu stadium, SONNA reported.
Prime Minister Kheyre invited the EU representative in Somalia Mr. Nicolás Berlanga Martinez to take part in an evening exercise with him in the newly refurbished stadium.The two have been pictured having an evening run at the stadium alongside other officials.
“Somalia needs Partners who stand with us through both hard times & better times, who share the vision of a stable, prosperous & united #Somalia, EU’s sustained support has seen this stadium through the ruins to this remarkable renovation. My first run here alongside @NBerlanga,” PM Kheyre said in a tweet.
In the recent years, Somalia is witnessing a wide range of development projects that contributes in reconstruct and restore the image of the country.
The EU, together with Somali authorities and international key partners, is engaged in Somalia through an integrated approach based on active diplomacy, support for political change, improving security, development assistance and humanitarian aid.
Mogadishu stadium was recently reopened by the Somali President H.E Mohamed Abdullahi Farmaajo on 26th of June after stadium closure for almost 16 years.
