Mogadishu, SONNA — The Prime Minister of the Federal Republic of Somalia, Hamza Abdi Barre, convened a significant meeting with women leaders spearheading the “Mother Support Your Nation” campaign at his office. The discussions centered on their crucial role in reconciliation efforts and raising public awareness for the upcoming one-person, one-vote election set to begin in the Banadir region.

Prime Minister Barre commended Somali women for their historic and ongoing contributions to the nation’s progress. He lauded their unwavering support in ensuring national security, aiding the armed forces, resolving conflicts, fostering development, and building a united Somali state.

“I extend my heartfelt gratitude to Somali women for their pivotal role in liberating our nation from the Kharijities. Your visible and unwavering support for the armed forces, especially in encouraging those on the frontlines, has been instrumental in the re-liberation of our country. Your contributions to our nation’s resilience and progress are both profound and indispensable,” said Prime Minister Barre.

The Prime Minister also emphasized the importance of Somali women in realizing the nation’s vision for peace, stability, and sustainable development. He urged them to continue their leadership in driving societal transformation and advancing national objectives during this critical period.

The meeting highlighted the indispensable role of women in shaping Somalia’s future and reiterated the government’s commitment to fostering inclusivity and progress for all citizens.
