MOGADISHU (SONNA) – The Prime Minister of the Federal Republic of Somalia, His Excellency Hamza Abdi Barre, held a high-level meeting in his office with the Ambassador of the Republic of Türkiye to Somalia, Mr. Alper Aktaş.
The Ambassador was accompanied by senior management from the Favori Company, the Turkish-based corporation responsible for the management and operations of the Adan Abdulle International Airport in Mogadishu.
During the meeting, the head of Favori Company provided a comprehensive briefing to the Prime Minister on the firm’s strategic plans for the further development and modernization of the airport. The officials outlined that significant upgrades and changes are planned for various sections and services within the airport. These enhancements are designed to elevate the facility’s operations and passenger experience to align with rigorous international standards.
Prime Minister Barre expressed his gratitude to the Favori Company for their dedicated efforts and investment in advancing the Adan Abdulle International Airport. He underscored the airport’s critical role as the primary gateway to Somalia, describing it as the first impression of the nation for international arrivals.
The Prime Minister emphasized the government’s priority in ensuring the airport becomes a modern, advanced hub equipped with state-of-the-art services that reflect the nation’s progress and aspirations.
Furthermore, Prime Minister Hamza highlighted the deep-rooted and fraternal relationship between Somalia and Türkiye. He extended his sincere appreciation to the Turkish government and its people for their unwavering and multifaceted support in contributing to Somalia’s national recovery and institutional rebuilding.
