Mogadishu, Somalia (SONNA) – The Prime Minister of the Federal Republic of Somalia, Mr. Hamsa Abdi Barre, underscored the pivotal role of a trustworthy judicial system in eradicating corruption and promoting good governance. Speaking at the closing ceremony of the 7th Judicial Conference, the Prime Minister highlighted the government’s dedicated efforts towards judicial reforms aimed at restoring public trust.

Prime Minister Barre emphasized the importance of modernizing Somalia’s judiciary to enhance transparency and justice. “You are witnessing a significant change in the country’s judicial system, which has restored the trust of the Somali people in our justice system. This transformation has been made possible through your relentless efforts,” he stated.

He reiterated the government’s commitment to safeguarding the independence of the judiciary and providing all necessary support. Mr. Barre urged the judiciary to refine and update laws and regulations to ensure they align with the constitution and Islamic law, thereby reinforcing legal frameworks that bolster public confidence.

The Prime Minister’s remarks reflect the administration’s strategic focus on judicial reform as a cornerstone of Somalia’s developmental agenda, emphasizing the judiciary’s critical role in fostering transparency and justice across the nation.
