Mogadishu, Somalia – SONNA – The Prime Minister of the Federal Republic of Somalia, His Excellency Hamsa Abdi Barre, has conveyed heartfelt Eid al-Fitr congratulations to the Somali people and the wider Islamic world.

In a statement issued on Saturday, Prime Minister Hamsa expressed his warm wishes to all Somalis, both at home and abroad, as they celebrate the joyous occasion marking the end of Ramadan. He particularly honored the nation’s brave soldiers fighting on the front lines, acknowledging their sacrifices in defending Somalia’s sovereignty, religion, and people.

The Prime Minister praised the Somali Armed Forces for their relentless efforts in combating the Khawarij terrorists who have long destabilized the country.

“The victories our forces have achieved on the battlefield are a testament to the determination of the Somali people to no longer tolerate an enemy that seeks to destroy our nation and hinder our progress,” said PM Hamsa.

He emphasized that the sacrifices of Somali troops have brought the country closer to peace and stability, allowing citizens to celebrate Eid in a more secure environment.

Concluding his message, the Prime Minister offered prayers for Somalia’s continued prosperity and unity, hoping that the blessings of Eid would extend to all Somalis worldwide.

“May Allah grant peace and prosperity to our people, and may we witness many more Eids in harmony and progress,” he added.

The statement comes as Somalia continues its military offensive against extremist groups, with recent gains bolstering hopes for lasting stability. As families gather to celebrate, the government’s message shows both gratitude for the nation’s defenders and optimism for a brighter future.
