Mogadishu, SONNA — The Prime Minister of Somalia, H.E. Hamza Abdi Barre, officially inaugurated astate-of-the-art Trauma Emergency and Intensive Care Center at De Martino Hospital in Mogadishu.
The facility, constructed and equipped with the support of the State of Qatar, is designed to address critical medical and emergency care needs for the Somali population. It features modern medical equipment and surgical facilities to provide advanced healthcare services.
Following the ribbon-cutting ceremony, Prime Minister Barre toured the facility and commended its role in improving Somalia’s healthcare sector. He emphasized the importance of the center in fulfilling a significant gap in emergency medical services.
“This center is a vital addition to our healthcare system and reflects our commitment to improving medical services for the Somali people,” said the Prime Minister. “We are deeply grateful to the State of Qatar for their generous support in making this project a reality.”
The emergency response center is fully equipped to handle medical emergencies and provide comprehensive care for patients. It includes facilities for critical care, surgeries, and patient recovery, marking a significant milestone in Somalia’s healthcare development.
The inauguration highlights Somalia’s progress in enhancing public services and fostering international collaboration to address key needs in the health sector. The Federal Government remains dedicated to expanding access to quality healthcare for all citizens.
