In a resolute national address, the President of Somalia Hassan Sheikh Mohamud commended the national army and local forces for their unwavering commitment in the ongoing battle against the terror group Al-Shabaab. From Dhusamareeb, the capital of Galmudug state, the President acknowledged the substantial progress achieved since the commencement of the campaign.

Praising the courageous perseverance of the forces over challenging terrain and harsh conditions, the President called upon them to maintain their steadfast determination in targeting and eradicating the enemy. He assured that victory was on the horizon and emphasized the significance of their mission.

The President cautioned against the dissemination of false information about the government and army, asserting that those responsible were inadvertently aiding the enemy’s cause. He drew parallels between such individuals and Al-Shabaab, highlighting the detrimental effects of their actions.

Providing clarity on the recent battle in Osweyne, the President refuted Al-Shabaab’s claims of inflicted casualties on the national forces. He presented a factual account of the confrontation, stating that over 190 terrorists had been neutralized and interred in mass graves. He also revealed that even injured militants were eliminated, as treatment was unfeasible. The President assured a thorough investigation into the mass graves and the terrorists’ actions.

The President affirmed his commitment to holding accountable those who misused their positions of power within the government to undermine military operations. He vowed that those who betrayed the cause or sabotaged efforts would face consequences.

Underscoring an unyielding commitment to the war on terror, the President asserted that no part of Somalia would remain under enemy control. He expressed unwavering determination, declaring that the country would continue its fight against Al-Shabaab until complete liberation was achieved.

In a rallying cry, the President urged the Somali populace worldwide to unite in support of the national forces and the government. He stressed the pivotal nature of the moment, where the people and government jointly resolved to combat Al-Shabaab and secure a future of dignity for Somalia.

As Somalia faces this critical juncture, the President’s resolute address serves as a call to arms, uniting the nation in its mission to eradicate the threat of Al-Shabaab and restore lasting peace to the region.
