Mogadishu, SONNA – The President of the Federal Republic of Somalia, His Excellency Hassan Sheikh Mohamud, today received the credentials of two newly appointed ambassadors during a ceremony held at the State House in Mogadishu.
The diplomats included Her Excellency Francesca Di Mauro, the new Ambassador of the European Union (EU) to Somalia, and His Excellency Henk Jan Bakker, the new Ambassador of the Kingdom of the Netherlands to Somalia.
President Hassan Sheikh Mohamud congratulated both ambassadors on their new assignments and assured them of the full cooperation and support of the Somali people and government as they carry out their diplomatic missions.
For their part, Ambassadors Di Mauro and Bakker expressed gratitude for the warm reception, reaffirming their commitment to strengthening cooperation with Somalia in the areas of peace, development, and reconstruction.
The accreditation of the new EU and Dutch envoys marks another step in Somalia’s deepening engagement with its international partners.
