Dar es Salaam, SONNA – On the sidelines of the Africa Energy Summit in Dar es Salaam, President of the Federal Republic of Somalia, H.E. Hassan Sheikh Mohamud, held a high-level meeting with the President of the African Development Bank (AfDB), Dr. Akinwumi Adesina, to further enhance cooperation between Somalia and the AfDB.
The discussions focused on unlocking investment opportunities in Somalia, capitalizing on the country’s improving security and economic stability. Key areas of cooperation included investment in Somalia’s livestock sector, expanding the blue economy, developing affordable renewable energy solutions, and advancing critical infrastructure projects.
President Hassan Sheikh Mohamud highlighted Somalia’s potential for sustainable economic growth, emphasizing the need for strategic partnerships to boost investment and drive development across key sectors.
To further advance these discussions, President Mohamud extended an official invitation to Dr. Adesina to visit Somalia. Dr. Adesina warmly accepted the invitation, reaffirming the African Development Bank’s commitment to supporting Somalia’s economic transformation.
The meeting underscores Somalia’s growing engagement with international financial institutions and its dedication to fostering sustainable economic progress through strategic collaborations.
