Mogadishu—The President of the Federal Republic of Somalia, Hassan Sheikh Mohamud, is departing for a working visit to Eritrea, accompanied by Somalia’s Minister of Foreign Affairs, Ahmed Moalim Fiqi. During his stay in Asmara, President Mohamud is scheduled to meet with Eritrean President Isaias Afwerki to discuss strengthening bilateral relations between Somalia and Eritrea.
Foreign Minister Ahmed Moalim Fiqi, speaking to SONNA, noted that the talks will also focus on regional issues affecting the Horn of Africa, with an emphasis on enhancing cooperation on key matters of mutual interest, particularly security and stability in the region.
