Baidoa, SONNA — The President of the Federal Republic of Somalia, H.E. Hassan Sheikh Mohamud, alongside the Interim Leader of South West State, H.E. Jibril Abdirashid Haji Abdi, has co-chaired a high-level meeting in Baidoa bringing together the South West State Council of Ministers and commanders of the Somali Armed Forces.
The meeting focused on the overall situation in South West State, with discussions centered on accelerating stabilization efforts, strengthening security, intensifying the fight against terrorism, responding to drought conditions, and improving coordination among government institutions.
Participants reviewed progress in ongoing operations and assessed key priorities aimed at ensuring lasting peace and sustainable development across the region.
President Hassan Sheikh Mohamud, after receiving detailed briefings from state ministers and national security officials, emphasized the need for stronger alignment between the Federal Government and regional authorities. He stressed that unified efforts are essential to enhance service delivery, rebuild administrative institutions, and advance local economic infrastructure.
The meeting reflects continued efforts by national and regional leadership to consolidate stability and drive inclusive development in South West State.
