Mogadishu, (SONNA) – The President of the Federal Republic of Somalia, H.E. Hassan Sheikh Mohamud, has extended his heartfelt condolences to the family, relatives, the Somali National Army, and the entire Somali nation following the death of Senior Lieutenant Colonel Nur Mohamed Gaabow (Nur Farey), the Commander of the 14th October Brigade of the Somali National Army.
President Mohamud described the late commander as a patriotic and devoted officer who gave his life in defense of the nation and the freedom of the Somali people. He prayed for Allah’s mercy upon the fallen officer and all martyrs of the armed forces.
The President emphasized that the Federal Government is conducting a thorough investigation into the terrorist attack that claimed the commander’s life. He reaffirmed the government’s unwavering commitment to intensifying the fight against terrorist groups that threaten the peace and stability of Somalia.
