Mogadishu, (SONNA) — The President of the Federal Republic of Somalia, H.E Hassan Sheikh Mohamud, on Friday joined hundreds of worshippers in observing Jumu’ah prayers at Abu Huraira Mosque, located in Mogadishu’s Bakara Market.
The President was accompanied by several members of the Federal Cabinet, senior commanders of the Somali National Armed Forces, and the Governor of Banadir Region.
After the prayers, President Hassan Sheikh delivered a sermon in which he addressed the country’s overall situation, highlighting ongoing diplomatic and legal efforts by the Federal Government to counter foreign interference and actions that undermine Somalia’s unity and sovereignty.
He emphasized that the Federal Government has achieved significant progress in its diplomatic struggle to confront what he described as destabilizing external ambitions, particularly attempts aimed at violating Somalia’s territorial integrity. The President called on the Somali people to remain united in opposing foreign interference and any efforts to establish illegal military bases on Somali soil that could fuel regional conflicts.
The address underscored the government’s position on safeguarding national independence and reinforcing collective responsibility in defending Somalia’s sovereignty.
