Mogadishu(SONNA)-President of the Federal Government of Somalia, Hassan Sh. Mohamud has appointed Mohamed Ahmed Amiir as the new Governor of Banadir Region and Mayor of Mogadishu, replacing Yusuf Hussein Jimaale Madale, who has held the position since September 7, 2022.
Amiir, an expert in economic, social development, and administration, has been tasked with:
• Completing development plans for Mogadishu
• Enhancing the city’s beauty
•Expanding basic services
• Strengthening security
• Providing public elections
The President wishes Amiir success in his new role, emphasizing efficiency, honesty, and diligence. The decree was signed into effect today, December 10, 2024.
