Baidoa, (SONNA) — The President of the Federal Republic of Somalia, H.E. Hassan Sheikh Mohamud, has concluded a series of political consultations and reconciliation meetings held in the Southwest State.
The meetings brought together regional officials, traditional elders, politicians, and various segments of society, focusing on strengthening social unity, advancing reconciliation efforts, accelerating state-building, and promoting the country’s democratization process.
These engagements form part of the Federal Government’s ongoing efforts to foster national unity, ensure political stability, and build an inclusive system of governance grounded in public participation and cooperation.
During the discussions, the President urged political leaders, traditional elders, and the wider Southwest community to reinforce unity, cooperation, and political compromise, while avoiding actions that could lead to division. He emphasized the importance of maintaining stability in the region and creating an environment conducive to sustainable development and effective governance.
The meetings were attended by the Speaker of the House of the People of the Federal Parliament, Sheikh Adan Mohamed Nur, the Second Deputy Speaker Abdullahi Omar Abshirow, along with other senior officials.
