MOGADISHU, Somalia – The leadership of the Somali Police Force conducted an extensive overnight inspection tour of district centers across Mogadishu, verifying security protocols just hours before the commencement of the historic Benadir local council elections. The high-level patrol was led by Police Commissioner Brigadier General Asad Osman Abdullahi, reflecting the security apparatus’s commitment to a safe voting process.
The Commissioner was accompanied by a senior delegation, including Deputy Police Commissioner Brigadier General Osman Abdullahi and the Benadir Regional Police Commander, Colonel Mahdi Omar Mumin. The team visited the majority of the district headquarters designated as polling stations, where citizens are set to cast their ballots this morning. The objective of the tour was to assess the operational readiness of the forces and ensure that the heightened security measures are fully implemented.
During the inspection, Brigadier General Asad Osman Abdullahi evaluated the deployment of personnel and the condition of the security perimeter around the voting centers. He held on-site briefings with the officers in charge of the specific locations, listening to detailed reports regarding the stability of the areas and the preparedness of the troops to manage the expected flow of voters.
