MOGADISHU, Somalia – The Commissioner of the Somali Police Force, Brigadier General Asad Osman Abdullahi, oversaw a major inspection and rehearsal parade today at the General Kahiye Police Academy. The event marks the final stages of preparation for the upcoming 82nd anniversary of the Somali Police Force’s establishment.
During the ceremony held at the newly renovated General Kahiye Academy, Brigadier General Asad Osman Abdullahi took the salute from various battalions meticulously prepared for the grand commemoration. The inspection showcased the readiness and discipline of the force, with diverse units participating in synchronized marching drills.
The rehearsal highlighted the modernized capabilities of the institution, featuring specialized divisions such as tactical units equipped with green combat gear and helmets. Female police officers were also a prominent part of the formation, demonstrating the inclusive nature of the force. Additionally, the police band and ceremonial flag bearers were present to ensure the event meets national protocol standards.
This preparation precedes the national celebration scheduled for December 20, marking 82 years since the Somali Police Force was founded in 1943. The anniversary serves as an opportunity to honor the long history and service of the country’s oldest security institution.
