Mogadishu, SONNA – The Commander of the Somali Police Force, Brigadier General Asad Osman Abdullahi, alongside Deputy Police Commander Brigadier General Osman Abdullahi Mohamed (Kaniif), chaired a critical meeting of Police Commands and Units this week to address security measures in the country, with a particular focus on safeguarding the capital, Mogadishu, during the holy month of Ramadan.
The meeting brought together senior police officials to strategize and reinforce security operations aimed at maintaining peace and stability in Mogadishu and other parts of the country. Brigadier General Asad Osman Abdullahi commended the security forces for their dedication and tireless efforts in fulfilling their duties, emphasizing the importance of their role in protecting citizens and thwarting potential threats.
In his address, the Police Chief urged the public to collaborate closely with security forces to ensure a safe and secure environment. He highlighted the need for vigilance and community cooperation to counter the destructive plots of the Khawarij, who seek to disrupt the peace and harm civilians.
“The security of our capital and the nation as a whole is a shared responsibility. We call on the public to work hand in hand with the security forces to prevent the evil plans of the Khawarij and to ensure a peaceful Ramadan for all,” stated Brigadier General Asad Osman Abdullahi.
The meeting also reviewed ongoing security operations and discussed measures to enhance intelligence gathering, patrols, and rapid response capabilities during Ramadan, a period when communities gather for prayers and social activities, making security vigilance even more critical.
The Somali Police Force remains committed to ensuring the safety of citizens and maintaining stability as the country continues its path toward recovery and development.
