Mogadishu, SONNA – The Commander of the Somali Police Force, Brigadier General Asad Osman Abdullahi, has emphasized the need to bolster the role of the security forces in maintaining national stability, particularly as the holy month of Ramadan approaches.

The call was made during a weekly meeting held at the General Command Headquarters, where Brigadier General Abdullahi met with senior officers from the leadership, divisions, and independent sections of the Police Force. The meeting included security briefings from key departments, including the Banadir Regional Directorate, the Criminal Investigation Department (CID), the Counter-Terrorism Command, and the Inspection Command.

During the discussions, officers provided updates on the current security situation and outlined measures to address emerging threats. Brigadier General Abdullahi commended the officers for their dedication and hard work in safeguarding the nation. He stressed the importance of enhancing the Police Force’s role in ensuring security, especially during the upcoming month of Ramadan, a period of heightened significance and activity.

In his address, the Police Chief urged the public to collaborate closely with security forces. He called on citizens to assist in preventing the actions of the Khawarij and other elements that could undermine national security. “The cooperation of the public is crucial in our efforts to maintain peace and stability,” he stated.

The meeting emphasized the Police Force’s commitment to addressing security challenges and ensuring the safety of all citizens during Ramadan and beyond. Brigadier General Abdullahi’s directives reflect the ongoing efforts to strengthen Somalia’s security apparatus and foster a collaborative approach between law enforcement and the community.

As the nation prepares for Ramadan, the Somali Police Force remains vigilant, working to create a secure environment for all.
