LAASCAANOOD – The Prime Minister of the Federal Government of Somalia, H.E. Hamza Abdi Barre, who is currently on a peace and unity mission in the city of Laascaanood, last night attended a major public event dubbed “Prime Minister Hamza and the People of SSC-Khaatumo.” The gathering drew thousands of residents as well as leaders from various levels of government.

In his keynote address, Prime Minister Hamza emphasized that the newly formed Khaatumo administration was established in accordance with the will of the people in the SSC regions. He declared that moving forward, Khaatumo would enjoy equal rights and privileges as other federal member states. He also encouraged the leaders of SSC-Khaatumo to expedite the transition from a temporary to a permanent administrative status.

“I was filled with joy and deep affection witnessing the unity with which you have upheld the integrity and the flag of the Federal Republic of Somalia,” said the Prime Minister. “It is a fortunate moment to see the blue flag raised high across many parts of the northern regions. We are at a time when the Somali people most need peace and unity. My historic visit to Laascaanood is a testament to the strengthening of national unity and solidarity.”

During the event, the Prime Minister also listened to speeches from community leaders, traditional elders, and officials who all reaffirmed their commitment to the unity of Somalia. He extended his heartfelt gratitude to the residents of SSC-Khaatumo for their unwavering support for peace and national cohesion.
