Mogadishu, (SONNA) – The Prime Minister of the Federal Government of Somalia, H.E Hamza Abdi Barre received the Minister of Defense of Kenya, H.E Adan Barre Duale, and discussed security cooperation and how to reopen the border between the two countries of Somalia and Kenya.
The Prime Minister and the Minister of Defense have raised the importance of strengthening cooperation in security, especially the war against the terrorist groups, in which the Somali government has achieved great success.
They also discussed how to re-open the border between the two neighboring countries, to facilitate traffic and trade between Somalia and Kenya.
Kenya is part of the African Union ATMIS forces in Jubaland, and the meeting was attended by the President of the Jubaland State Government, H.E Ahmed Mohamed Islam and the Minister of Defense of Somalia, Mr. Abdulkadir Mohamed Nur.
The regional government of Jubaland is preparing for a strong war to liberate the Khawarij groups from the areas where they are still harassing the Somali people.
