Mogadishu , (SONNA) – The Prime Minister of the Federal Government of Somalia, H.E Hamza Abdi Barre received IGAD Director Amb. Gamal Hassan and Andrew Harper, UNHCR Special Advisor on Climate Action and UNHCR Somalia representative Magatte Guisse. They discussed the region’s approach to transition from aid dependency towards resilience and development.
They also discussed how the UN, IGAD and the government can collectively enact long term solutions to address the root causes of these recurring crisis by tackling climate adaptation in more systemic ways both locally and regionally.
