Mogadishu(SONNA) – President of the Federal Republic of Somalia, H.E. Hassan Sh. Mohamud welcomed Djiboutian President, Ismail Omar Guelleh at Aden Abdulle International Airport in Mogadishu today on Wednesday, SONNA reported.
The two leaders held talks at the Presidential Palace and gave briefing to the media jointly.
“It is a great day for us as we are Somalia, We welcomed our brother, President of Djibouti, Ismail Omar Guelleh who came to his country and the People are very pleased to his arrival, we are the same as country and people “, President Hassan said.
The President thanked president Guelleh for his role in laying the foundation of Somalia’s third republic of Government, telling that his Government requested the President to come to and give them advice.
President Guelleh thanked Hassan for inviting him, saying that it is the first time to pay a visit to Mogadishu after Somalia elections.
”We are grateful to the warm welcome that we received from the public and government. We praise Government’s efforts to the fight against Al-Shabaab”, Guelleh said.
President Guelleh is expected to attend the inauguration of the Regional Academy of the Somali Language here in Mogadishu. The Institution gathers speaking regions in the Horn of Africa namely Somalia, Djibouti, Ethiopian and Kenya.
