Mogadishu, SONNA – The Federal Minister of Petroleum and Minerals, H.E. Daahir Shire Mohamed, held a strategic meeting today with Somalia’s major fuel importers to accelerate the implementation of downstream regulatory frameworks.
Held at the Ministry headquarters, the meeting focused on ensuring fuel quality, environmental safety, and public health by enforcing standards and protocols developed by the Ministry.
Minister Daahir urged importers to fully comply with existing regulations, highlighting the importance of importing fuel that meets international quality standards. He reiterated the Ministry’s commitment to working closely with all stakeholders to establish a transparent and safe fuel distribution system.
Fuel importers welcomed the regulatory drive and shared recommendations to improve fuel management and safety oversight nationwide. The Ministry pledged to continue consultations to ensure fuel and mineral services meet national and global benchmarks.
