Mogadishu, Somalia – November 21, 2024 – The Social Service Development Committee of the Federal Parliament of Somalia held a workshop in Mogadishu to raise awareness and ensure the smooth monitoring of relief efforts across the country. The event, which was jointly organized by the Federal Parliament and UNICEF, was attended by officials from various parliamentary committees.
The workshop aimed to secure a commitment to the effective implementation of relief activities crucial for the Somali population and to achieve the government’s goal of serving the nation. Discussions focused on enhancing coordination, transparency, and efficiency in delivering humanitarian aid.
Nadra Salah Abdi, Chairperson of the Social Service Development Committee, praised the leaders of the Disaster Management Authority for their dedication and efforts in providing much-needed humanitarian assistance to the Somali people. She highlighted the importance of continuous support and collaboration between governmental and non-governmental organizations to address the pressing needs of vulnerable communities.
