Medina, (SONNA) — Thousands of Somali pilgrims are arriving in the holy city of Medina ahead of this year’s Hajj pilgrimage, their faces beaming with joy and gratitude upon reaching the sacred land. The warm reception extended to them reflects the spiritual significance of this journey.
According to the Ministry of Endowments and Religious Affairs of the Federal Government of Somalia, around 11,500 Somali pilgrims are expected to perform Hajj this year. Departures are underway from major airports across the country, including Mogadishu, Hargeisa, and Bosaso, with flights scheduled to continue through May 31.
In collaboration with the Hajj Operations Committee and the Somali Embassy in Saudi Arabia, the Ministry is working to ensure that Somali pilgrims fulfill their religious duties with dignity, safety, and proper guidance throughout the Hajj season of 1446.
