Mogadishu, (SONNA) – Osman Sharif is a man with special needs, but that has never stopped him from becoming a hero in the defense of his people. He refused to be seen as a victim and chose instead to make history as a courageous fighter.
Osman lost his mobility after being attacked by militants from the Khawarij group, yet he remained undeterred. Armed with determination and his weapon, he joined the local defense forces in Al-Kowsar, a district in Somalia’s Middle Shabelle region. He has been on the frontlines ever since, fighting tirelessly against the Khawarij militants who continue to terrorize Somali civilians.
His story is a powerful reminder that bravery is not defined by physical ability, but by resilience, determination, and a deep love for one’s people and homeland.
