Mogadishu (SONNA) — An emergency meeting of foreign ministers from member states of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) is currently underway in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia.
The meeting is focused on what participants described as Israel’s violation of the unity and territorial integrity of the Federal Republic of Somalia.
Addressing the meeting, OIC Secretary-General Hissein Brahim Taha strongly condemned what he termed Israel’s unlawful recognition of a part of Somali territory, describing the move as a blatant breach of international law and Somalia’s sovereignty.
The conference is expected to conclude with a joint communiqué denouncing Israel’s actions and reaffirming support for Somalia’s unity, sovereignty, and territorial integrity.
