Mogadishu, SONNA – The National Intelligence and Security Agency (NISA) has welcomed the Saudi Cabinet’s approval of a crucial cooperation agreement focused on combating terrorism and its financing. The agreement, originally signed in February in Jeddah, solidifies collaboration between Somalia’s National Intelligence and Security Agency and the Saudi Arabian National Security Agency.
NISA Commander Abdullahi Mohamed Ali (Sanbaloolshe) expressed his satisfaction with the decision, stating that the agreement “will be the backbone of our fight against the Khawarij and the prevention of crimes resulting from the financing of terrorism.” The Khawarij have been a persistent threat to the nation’s peace and stability.
This approved pact is a significant step in Somalia’s broader security strategy. NISA is intensifying its efforts and plans to accelerate the fight against terrorism, aligning with the national objective to eradicate extremist elements attempting to harm the Somali people.
The agreement is expected to enhance intelligence sharing, operational coordination, and strategies to disrupt terrorist financing networks between the two nations, ultimately contributing to a more secure environment in Somalia and the wider region.
